God's Little Angels provides preschool education in Mankato, MN. We offer all day preschool with smaller class sizes and an additional staff person in each classroom for more one on one interactions. This allows us to create more learning opportunities by creating conversations and building on what the children are already creating during play. 

We have Jesus time each day, we have Pastor visits once a month, and we also pray a few times each day. We love bringing the children closer to Jesus.

We prefer hands on activities and encourage the children to use those types of activities where are manipulating objects. We will do some paper activities but the children learn better with hands on activities for small groups. We are able to incorporate two small groups a day with the all day preschool.

We also make each of our transitions purposeful. We include activities where they are using letters, numbers, opposites, beginning letter sounds, etc. This also allows u to manage the environment of the classroom. It eliminates all of the children in the bathroom at one time and decreases their wait time.

Daily Schedule

Goals and Objectives of the Preschool Classroom

A) Physical Development: Large and Small Motor

• Goal: This program is planned to assist each child in moving safely through designated spaces. Developmentally appropriate activities are provided to encourage the development of large and small muscles.
  
• Objective: Large Motor

1. Learn skills in coordinating body movements.

2. Practice tossing balls, bean bags into baskets.

3. Be able to follow a path on the ground.

4. Walk backwards.

5. Walk frontwards on a balance beam, unassisted.



• Objectives: Small Motor

1. Demonstrate cutting on a straight line and circle.

2. Develop proper hand position while using a pencil, crayon and

    scissors. 

3. Assemble puzzles of four or more pieces.

4. Demonstrate fine motor strength and coordination.

5. Use fingers and hands to pinch, squeeze, pound, and pull. 



B) Intellectual Development

• Goal: This program provides a developmentally age-appropriate Christian environment and activities to promote discovery and exploration in the following areas of learning; Math, Science, Language/Literacy, Social Studies, the Arts, Religion. 
  
• Objectives: Math 

1. Counts objects.

2. Demonstrates number recognition.

3. Demonstrates one to one correspondence.

4. Participates in various graph and tallying experiences.

5. Be exposed to “mathematical vocabulary” such as more, less, large,

small, over, under, around, between, beside, etc.

6. Recognize and name basic shapes and colors.



• Objectives: Science
  



1. Practice observation skills.

2. Practice classification skills.

3. Observe cause and effect in his/her world.

4. Uses tools and other technology to perform tasks.

5. Practice problem solving and evaluation skills.



• Objective: Language/ Literacy
  



1. Demonstrates emergent writing skills (writes name, writes to convey

meaning).

2. Demonstrates knowledge of the alphabet (identification, sound).

3. Develops phonological awareness.

4. Develop and demonstrate listening skills

5. Comprehends and responds to books and other texts.

6. Be exposed to, develop an understanding of, and demonstrate spoken

language.



• Objective: Social Studies
  



1. Expand his/her awareness of self.

2. Demonstrates an awareness of family structure and responsibility.

3. Develop an awareness of his/her community and community helpers.

4. Practice and demonstrate self-help skills including using the

bathroom, proper hygiene dressing and eating.

5. Explores drama through actions and language.



• Objective: Religion
  



1. Understand God’s unconditional love for each of us.

2. Learn about God’s message for the Bible and plan of salvation through

Jesus Christ for everyone.

3. Understand and respect the earth as God's creation.

4. Learn to worship God through song, music, praise, and prayer.

5. Learn to thank and talk about God through prayer.

6. Be exposed to God’s word through Bible stories.



C) Social Development

• Goal: To positively assist children in their interactions with peers, teachers and their environment.   
  
• Objective: Social

1. Be able to share, take turns, and wait for short periods of time.

2. Knows and follows daily routines/schedules.

3. Demonstrate respect for the property of others.

4. Develop personal responsibility for his/her actions.

5. Demonstrate the usage of polite language such as “please”, “thank

you’” and “you’re welcome.”

6. Practices good hygiene, such as covering his/her mouth when sneezing

and washing hands after using the bathroom. 



D) Emotional Development 

• Goal: To recognize and accept each child as a unique individual and encourage the development of a positive self-image.
  
• Objectives:

1. Demonstrate self-control consistent with his/her developmental level.

2. Practice coping skills and self-control in separating from family.

3. Experience and participate in transitions.

4. Participate in choice- and decision-making activities.

5. Encourage expression of feelings, freedom, and self-motivation.

6. Recognize and support each child’s positive efforts.

7. Support each child’s abilities and successes.

8. Encourage awareness of concepts of respect for self, others, other

 cultures and differences in people.
